The moral

The bad weather condition combined with Scotts growing depression doesn’t show the glowing moral that is needed. The trip was no success. Pain doesn’t feel as horrible when winning as loosing. And they have lost the race to the South Pole to Norwegians. It doesn’t seem as if the purpose of the trip is to gain fame. The trip is more to honor England. This can be spotted by the race against the Norwegians.  It is not really the person themselves they fight against, but Norway in itself.
